Vessel & Altar
We hold this treasure in earthen vessels.
Daily liturgical formation for Catholic women who pour out — and who need to be poured into. The vessel holds the treasure and pours it out. But the vessel also needs to be filled.

Just as Elijah had said, the jar of flour did not go empty, nor the jug of oil run dry, as the LORD had spoken through Elijah. - 1 Kings 17:16
Reflection
She went and did as Elijah said. First the cake for Elijah, from her last flour. Then she prepared something for herself and her son. The jar did not go empty. The jug did not run dry. For many days.
The widow's act is an act of hospitality so extreme it borders on the impossible - giving from her last provision to a stranger, at the cost of her family's survival. And the miracle is not a dramatic single refill but the sustained daily sufficiency: the jar was not empty each morning, the oil was not gone each evening. The provision was hidden in the ordinary.
You are the light of the world. The declaration is made before the instruction - you already are. The question is where the light is placed. The lamp under the bushel produces no less light. It just illuminates nothing. The woman whose light has been covered - whose faith has been kept private, whose good works have been systematically hidden - is a lamp under a bushel. Let it be seen. Not for your glory. For the Father's.
The Challenge
Let your light shine before others so they may see your good works and glorify your Father. Name one good work this week that is visible rather than hidden. It does not need to be large. It needs to be out from under the bushel.
One Prayer
Lord, let the jar not go empty. Let the jug not run dry. And let the light be seen - for the Father's glory, not mine. Sacred Heart of Jesus, I trust in you. Amen.
